What a Leap!

I was walking through the swamp when I came upon a group of roseate spoonbills feeding. The first time I encountered them, they flew further on down the trail. When I neared the spoonbills for a second time, I walked slowly & let them get used to my presence. They were busy feeding in the swamp which allowed me to get up close. As I was photographing the group of spoonbills, deer started running across in the background. I was able to catch the deer leaping in midair with water splashing up from the takeoff. It is quite amazing how far these deer can jump with what looks like little effort.
