Our rental car was a Prius which happened to be about the same size or almost smaller than some of the bison we encountered during "bison jams" along the roads. During this particular bison jam, we had a small herd graze right next to our vehicle before moving past us. One bison almost stuck its head in my window and I had to lean back so I wouldn't startle it.
