Shortly after Barred owl chicks start peeking outside of the nest, they get comfortable moving around the closest branches they have access to. This little chick was adventurous and curious to its surroundings. I was able to get close up to this one on multiple occasions during the season I followed this family. I was fortunate enough to see this one fledge and make it to adulthood! The old growth and texture of the surrounding limbs combined with the green background of trees gave the little fluffy barred owl some pop.
