Florida Summers bring lots of much needed rain to replenish our groundwater, slow wildlfires, and water our food/plants. These Summer storms also bring along lightning, making Florida the lightning capital of the United States. I love spending time to watch the summer storms roll in over the Gulf, 6-10 miles out when I can to capture some of the incredible lightning bolts. The feeling of sitting on the beach and watching one of natures greatest light shows is almost second to none.
Lightning Season is here! I recommend downloading a good lightning (Lightning Pro) or weather app (Dark Sky, Accuweather, MyRadar) for your phone to let you know of incoming danger if you spend time outdoors in Florida from June-November.
