I spent a week photographing belted kingfishers in the hopes of catching them diving up close, or flying by with a fish. All of the mornings were cold by Florida standards, where mist can be seen rising up from the ground on humid mornings. Wood storks and some other wading birds were catching breakfast just after sunrise while I was walking to my spot to photograph my belted kingfishers.
